  3. Spot on comment about when to call the vet. Our cat has the best of both worlds in East TN.. He can go run up and down the trees-yes, run, or stay inside . He comes and goes pretty much as he pleases. One afternoon, I let him in the door and noticed an unusual small bulge in his side. I called the vet thinking an appointment next morning, the Vet said bring him in ASAP. . He had an abcess, and was prescribed antibiotics. It was almost as if he suddenly knew he was sick when we arrived home. He laid around the house for about 48 hours before resuming his normal activities. No telling what would have happened if I had waited until the next day. I try to know that I don’t know, if that makes sense.

  4. Is there anything natural you can suggest for a 15 year old cat diagnosed with hyperthyroidism? He takes the thyroid meds (2 pills per day, 12 hours apart) but I have a very hard time giving them to him. Tried putting them in his food – even crushing them – but he either avoids the pill when it’s whole or won’t eat the food when it’s crushed in it. I hope there is an alternative. Thanks for any advice:)
