In this informative video, Dr. Andrew Jones reveals the safest and simplest vaccine schedule for both dogs and cats, focusing on minimizing risk while ensuring effective protection. Dr. Jones explains which vaccines provide long-term immunity and why some vaccines, such as Lyme Disease and Leptospirosis, may not offer lasting protection. He emphasizes that yearly vaccines are often unnecessary for pets who already have sufficient immunity.

Dr. Jones discusses the importance of customizing vaccine dosages based on your pet’s size and condition, as well as the potential side effects of vaccines, including the long-term risk of certain cancers. He also recommends spacing out vaccines to reduce stress for your pets and suggests using titer tests to determine if additional boosters are needed.

For dogs, Dr. Jones outlines a recommended vaccine schedule starting at 8 weeks, with boosters and rabies vaccination spaced appropriately for optimal protection. For cats, he explains the importance of vaccinating based on whether they are indoor or outdoor and recommends a tailored vaccine schedule.

  1. I recently found you the other day been watching a few of your videos. Glad i found you…I can tell you have a love for animals in your videos. I believe you over any vet. Thank you so much

  2. Dr. Jones, I totally agree with you, but my state won’t accept a titer in lieu of a rabies vaccine certificate (I’ve been pursuing this), so how do I get around that in renewing my dog’s license this Spring? I do not want him injected with anymore anything (when I adopted him, it was part of his finally being treated for heartworm, after months of medication at the humane society….he’s been through that whole nightmare (2021).

It’s been three years since my dog’s last rabies vaccine. He’s now approaching his sixth birthday. He’s had 3 rabies vaccines (I’ve refused all the other vaccines despite the looks I get from the Veterinary staff) and my vet (across the river in a neighboring State) said that she’ll do a titer for him, but, as I’ve said the the State Dept. of Health tells me they won’t accept a titer in lieu of a rabies vaccine certificate, and therefore, how will I renew his license??????????? I’ve been investigating this and while vets online are telling me what I know is true, I’m not hearing anyone talk about how to deal with the licensing glitch! We live surrounded by fields, brooks, beaver pond, woods, mountains…tons of wildlife.

(I “love” the cdc-imposed message at the top, above the video title: if I were the cdc, in 2026, I would be so embarrassed to post that message.)
